Commuter motorcycles aren’t just about getting from point A to point B anymore – those days are long gone. Today, customers want a little more out of their regular everyday rides and while fuel efficiency still rules the roost on this list, first impressions and design details are gaining importance at a steady pace. Honda feels that today’s youngsters want to feel special even if they’re riding a small capacity motorcycle and the Japanese manufacturer has been lining up its showrooms with bikes like the CB Twister and the CB Dazzler over the last few years.
For now, it’s time for the CB Shine to offer something special to its buyers with a whole new variant – the CB Shine SP. If you’re wondering how, then here’s a pretty quick list of all the new bits – carved flyscreen, sculpted side pods, digital meters, loads of swanky graphics, a neat set of alloys and a disc brake up frontwith a CBS (Combi Braking System) option. Of course, the CB Shine SP is powered by Honda’s proven and reliable 125cc HET four-stroke mill mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Overall, the CB Shine SP is claimed to return a fuel efficiency of 65kmpl. To make things comfortable for its riders the CB Shine SP gets a 5-step adjustable suspension, longer seats, longer wheelbase, increased ground clearance and tubeless tyres.
The Honda CB Shine SP is available in 5 colour options which include Geny Grey Metallic, Athletic Blue Metallic, Pearl Amazing White, Rebel Red Metallic and Black (sorry, no funky prefixes for the black paintjob!). There are three variants to choose from as well depending on a buyer’s budget. The CB Shine SP with electric start and drum brakes on both wheels is priced at Rs 59,900, with front disc brake at Rs 62,400 and the top-end with CBS at Rs 64,400 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
