Harley-Davidson Nightster coming soon to India

Posted on by

The Harley-Davidson Nightster combines a classic Sportster model silhouette with the on-demand performance of the new Revolution Max 975T powertrain and a host of contemporary electronic rider aids and features. At the heart of the bike is a liquid-cooled, 60-degree V-Twin that delivers 90 hp of peak power and 95 Nm of torque. Incidentally, the flat torque curve gives it a broad powerband that allows for strong acceleration right through the mid-range.

Coupled with a nimble lightweight chassis, this bike is equally at home on open roads on dealing with city traffic. The mid foot controls, low-rise handlebar and contoured seat offer a comfortable riding position.

To ensure that the rider gets the most out of the bike, the Nightster comes equipped with advanced features that greatly enhance the overall safety of being on the bike. To start with, it comes equipped with ABS which prevents the wheels from locking up and helps the rider remain in control in an urgent situation. The traction control system prevents the rear wheel from excessive spinning under acceleration, while the drag-torque slip control system is designed to adjust engine torque delivery and reduce excessive rear wheel slip under a powertrain induced deceleration which normally happens when the rider downshifts. Add to that, the bike also benefits from selectable ride modes that include road mode, sport mode and rain mode.

With its clean and lean styling, the Nightster carries classic Sportster design cues in a refreshing new package. The bike is set to make its Indian debut shortly and is expected to be priced in the INR 14 lakh range.
